Resolving Conflict Between Parents

Specialized for Educators & Service Professionals

Educators & service professionals are often exposed to behavioural issues that result from conflict in the home, and are often required to navigate these issues with both parents. While they need to help others through conflict, more than 70% are not conflict-trained themselves.

Understanding how parental conflict emerges, and how it intensifies, is crucial to working toward successful outcomes for the student who’s struggling. Unfortunately, educators can unknowingly exacerbate conflict in the home by inadvertently “siding” with one parent, if there’s only one parent involved in the discussion.

In other instances, educators can find themselves caught in the crossfire of family conflict. This session will give educators background into how parental conflict emerges, and how it intensifies, which is crucial to working toward successful outcomes for the student who’s struggling.

Learn when parental conflict requires guidance or intervention, and powerful questions that will help get to the root of the issue.
