My (she/her) background is in Law and Communications, but for eight years (first as a volunteer and then as a career), I have been working with Canadian prisoners, ex-prisoners, their families and victims.
Through faith-based restorative principles, we run programming in Canadian institutions as well as in community, that focuses on forgiveness, inner and outer peace, Mental Health First Aid provides wonderful knowledge around Mental Health decline and crises, but what I love most about it, is its focus on non-judgmental and active listening, empathy, and care.
The materials are beautifully put together and through thoughtful discussions, case studies and deeply accurate content, I love engaging with groups from all organizations looking to train staff or volunteers. I am certified as a trainer for both the Standard Adult course as well as for Adults Who Interact With Youth.
