The realities of neurodivergence and burnout
Neurodivergent folks are more prone to burnout at work. This can lead to increased leave of absence, longer leave of absence, and even permanent delays in returning to work. This can cost companies not just thousands of dollars per employee, but it robs companies of the many gifts Neurodivergent folk bring to the table.
More than that, the emotional and psychological toll it takes on the Neurodivergent individual can be severe: feelings of shame, and decreased experiences of personal value and self worth can result.
So why are Neurodivergent folk burning out at such high rates and what can we do about it?
On this panel you will hear from TWO Neurodiverse people who have experienced significant, profound and prolonged burnout due to work, what they are doing to help themselves recover, and what would have been useful in supporting them in not burning out in the first place.
This is a critical panel to attend if you want to ensure you are creating neuro-inclusive and psychologically safe and supportive work environments for all employees. The strategies you learn today wont just support your Neurodiverse folk, they will augment the experience and capacity of all employees and team members.
The Mental Health Commission of Canada has identified 13 factors of Psychologically Safe & Healthy Workplaces. Organizations who put them into effect can empower their workers to develop true work-life balance - leading to increased productivity, motivation, and engagement at work.

Here’s What People Are Saying About Our Experts' Work
“
"The way Erin spoke really hit the nail on the head. I felt like she was current and understood what the pandemic has been like for us and I could've engaged with that for hours. Even just knowing that someone else (who is an expert) understands what it has been like, and all the ways that we don't even yet understand about how it has affected us long-term, made me feel heard and understood."

“I honestly can say that without Seren I would still be in a really bleak, misinformed, deep dark well of despair. They cleared up all my misconceptions about neurodivergence and have made the entire experience of finding out who I am genuinely joyful. I firmly believe Seren is an up-and-coming superstar in the field of neuro-inclusivity, neurodivergent empowerment, and autonomy and embodiment no matter what your neurotype."
