Mental Health Community of Care Resources
Welcome to The Expert Talk’s Community of Care Resources.
We created this space for you because someone in your child’s community of care has taken the Mental Health First Aid course through the Mental Health Commission of Canada. It can be unnerving to be unclear on exactly what that means and how it might impact how they interact with your child.

So, we want to give you some insight into what they learned, and how they’re better prepared to help in the event your child starts to exhibit signs of an emerging mental health problem.
We know that the more support kids have when they’re struggling with mental health, the more likely they’ll be to get appropriate help and have increased positive outcomes.
In the event a problem arises, you and the mental health first aider(s) in your child’s life speaking the same language will make all the difference when working together to give your child the help and support they need.
You’re about to have access to:
- [Video] Overview of core course concepts (45 mins)
- [Video] Teen Anxiety – What you need to know so you can help them (43 mins)
- [Download] Ultimate guide to starting mental health conversations
- [Download] Guide to inclusive language
