I was talking about mom groups with a friend recently, and she told me how much she hates them. I’d asked her why, and she explained, “it’s not what they say, it’s how they make you feel.”
She talked about the judgement that gets piled on people who make posts in online groups – genuinely asking for advice – and how it leads to feeling small and like a failure.
So, what’s the deal? Why do people do it, and how do you deal with it when it happens to you?
