Giving Feedback

Feedback is a cornerstone of growth and collaboration—but too often it creates stress instead of trust. This course equips leaders and teams with tools to give feedback constructively, navigate power dynamics, and strengthen psychological safety at work.

Course Details

Feedback is essential for growth, productivity, and collaboration—but for many people, both giving and receiving feedback can be a source of anxiety, defensiveness, or shutdown. Past experiences of criticism, shame, or power imbalances can shape how individuals experience even well-intended input. Without careful attention to safety and relational dynamics, feedback conversations can unintentionally erode trust, reduce engagement, and harm performance.

This course helps leaders, managers, and teams build feedback skills grounded in empathy, clarity, and consent. Participants learn how to create the conditions for feedback to be received constructively—by recognizing common defensive reactions, understanding behaviour responses, and addressing the role of power dynamics. By focusing on psychological safety, feedback becomes a tool for learning and connection rather than fear or avoidance.

Through practical tools, structured frameworks, and real-world examples, participants will practice giving feedback in ways that support trust and growth. You’ll learn a step-by-step process for delivering effective messages, strategies for navigating difficult reactions, and techniques to ensure feedback conversations strengthen relationships rather than strain them.

Whether you are a leader, manager, or team member, this course equips you with the skills to give feedback that empowers others, supports learning, and creates healthier workplace cultures.

What People Are Saying

I've never liked giving feedback because I've always been worried about how the other person is going to react. Now that I understand why people behave the way they do, it's made it easier to stay in the moment and to express empathy and grace—which has deepened my relationships with my team members.
